Book Availability Increases Time Spent Reading

Research supports that when books are available in the home, parents are more likely to spend time reading with their child.

These results were demonstrated in a study that found parents given books by their doctor were four times more likely to read and share books with their children. This rate increased to eight times more likely with lower income parents. (1991 Needlman study.)
